Positive Reinforcement

Rarely does a child wake up and think of ways to annoy the parents.  Most children, and adults, want to hear praise.  It feels good to be reminded of the many good things we do every day.  If you want your child to remember his/her chores, why not reward him/her when she does them instead of criticizing when not done?  Help your child to remember his/her duties with a visual reminder (ie:a chart, a picture, etc) then a small reward when the job is done.  The consequence of not accomplishing the task is no reward.  If you and your child are consistent, the chores will become a “habit”- a good one!  More about The Art of  positive reinforcement and its benefits at http://www.aish.com/f/p/48931157.html
